Frigid winter temperatures will continue to blanket the nation's capital on Tuesday.
Environment Canada's forecast shows a few flurries ending this morning then cloudy skies for the rest of the day. There is a 40 per cent chance of flurries today.
High of -8 C with the wind chill making it feel like – 21 this morning and -15 this afternoon.
Tonight's temperatures will feel like -16 this evening and -24 overnight.
Wednesday will get colder with a high of -12 C and a low of 14 C in the evening.
The wind chill will be near -25. There is a 60 per cent chance of flurries in the afternoon.
Thursday's forecast shows cloudy skies with a 30 per cent chance of flurries. High -6 C. Evening temperatures show a low of -13 C.
The conditions mean good news for skaters on the Rideau Canal Skateway. Building thick, high-quality ice for the canal typically requires 10 to 14 consecutive days of cold weather, according to the National Capital Commission.
The weekend forecast shows conditions staying cold, with minus double digit temperatures overnight.
