Driver charged with careless driving following crash on Hwy. 417 in Ottawa

A driver is facing a charge of careless driving following a single-vehicle crash on Highway 417 in Ottawa's east end.

Emergency crews responded to the collision on the highway near Boundary Road Tuesday night.

Ontario Provincial Police says a five-ton truck, "lost control, overturning and blocking the highway."

The charge of careless driving carries a $490 fine and six demerit points if convicted.
