Ottawa police are investigating to determine whether the latest home invasion in the city's west end is linked to similar incidents in the area.
The investigation comes after a suspect armed with a shotgun forced his way into a home on Hyde Park Way in the Centrepointe neighbourhood at about 11:20 p.m. Tuesday.
Police say the robber demanded cash from the homeowners and fled with an undisclosed amount of money. No one was injured during the robbery.
The suspect is described as a black man, 18 to 20 years old, medium build, with short dark hair. He was wearing a red T-shirt at the time of the break-in.
Although the incident is the latest in a string of home invasions within a five-kilometre radius in recent weeks, police cannot say if the incidents are linked.
Anyone with information is asked to call Ottawa police at 613-236-1222 ext. 5050.
