Ontario Provincial Police have identified 42-year-old William Daniel Milton from Addington Highlands Township as the construction worker who was killed Monday morning on Highway 17 near Arnprior.
Police responded to the collision Monday at around 11:40 a.m.
They say a black 2010 Jeep Patriot was travelling west bound on Highway 17. The Jeep crossed the median and struck two construction vehicles that were parked on the south shoulder of the highway, including Milton and another construction worker.
The second worker suffered life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to the trauma centre in Ottawa.
The male driver and female passenger in the Jeep were transported to hospital with minor injuries.
Police don’t believe drugs and alcohol were involved with the collision, but haven’t ruled anything out. The investigation into the collision is still ongoing.
Last June, five people were injured, two seriously, after a crash that involved five vehicles in the exact same location.
Ontario Provincial Police are warning drivers to slow down and be careful in construction zones, especially when workers are present.
