Ottawa is ready for a big party weekend with the opening of Winterlude and Super Bowl Sunday.

The opening of the 35th edition of Winterlude is set for 7 pm tonight at Ottawa City Hall.

The entire length of the Rideau Canal is now open for skating.

You can check out the ice sculptures at Confederation Park or take the kids to the Snowflake Kingdom starting Saturday at Jacques-Cartier Park.

And after your skate on the Rideau Canal Sunday, turn on CTV for the Super Bowl.

More than 111 million people worldwide tuned in to watch the Super Bowl in 2012.

Super Bowl Sunday is one of the busiest days of the year for take out food restaurants, pizza shops, and bars.

CTV will start its Superbowl coverage at 11 a.m.
