Carissa Stephenson of Ottawa was last seen on Albert Street in the downtown area on the morning of May 24, 2013. She has light brown skin, is 5' 5" (165cm), approximately 100 lbs (45 kg), short black hair with long bangs and large barettes in her hair and has braces. (Ottawa Police handout)

Update: The Ottawa Police Service would like to advise that Carissa Stephenson has been located safe and sound.

The Ottawa Police would like to thank the public and the media for their assistance.

(Ottawa)- The Ottawa Police Service is looking for public assistance in locating a 12 year old girl. Carissa Stephenson of Ottawa was last seen on Albert Street in the downtown area this morning.

She has light brown skin, is 5' 5" (165cm), approximately 100 lbs (45 kg), short black hair with long bangs and large barettes in her hair and has braces (see picture). She was wearing an aqua green hoodie with a label of "Aéropostale", white/blue denim skinny jeans.

There are concerns for her wellbeing as she has some mental difficulties.
