A 27-year-old woman is dead after being struck by a car headed in the wrong direction in downtown Ottawa overnight.
Police say the car was headed eastbound on St. Patrick Street around 3:03 Saturday morning.
The woman was crossing at St. Patrick and Cumberland when she was hit.
The 26-year-old driver of the black Honda Accord was arrested and taken into police custody.
Police suspect alcohol may have been a factor. Charges are pending.
