The Ottawa Catholic School board will appoint a trustee to represent the Barrhaven-Gloucester zone.
The appointment process was prompted following the decision by the winner in the October 27, 2014 municipal election to withdraw from the race.
Despite her decision, Andrea Steenbakkers was still elected the winner in Zone 4 ward election.
Steenbakkers then sent the board a resignation letter.
The Catholic Board will now interview the two remaining candidates, Spencer Warren and Greg Deernsted at a Special Board meeting December 11, 2014.
The Board had two options, an appointment or an expensive by-election.
