The rise of big-box stores continues with the arrival of Cabela’s World’s Foremost Outfitter in Kanata. The showroom in the 70,000-square-foot store is full with hunting, fishing and camping gear, among other things.
Cabela’s offers a hands-on approach to their shopping by allowing customers to test a large variety of its products, including its bows, at the store’s indoor archery range.
The arrival of the giant Cabela’s is a sign that the outdoor sports industry has changed drastically, as smaller shops make way for bigger ones.
“I think what makes us most successful is the team we have, our outfitters are world class, they are product knowledge experts,” said Rick Hunter, the General Manager at the new Cabela’s in Kanata.
In a release the company said the new layout is “designed to surround customers in an outdoor-like experience with a large mountain replica and museum-quality wildlife displays.”
The store on Palladium Dr. will open to the public on Thursday, September 22nd, 2016.
