Bass Pro Shops swallows up Cabela's just days after it opens in Kanata

Just days after Cabela’s opened a new Kanata location, the outdoor superstore has been reeled in by a rival.

Bass Pro Shops is buying Cabela’s for $5.5 billion.

There were huge crowds at the opening of their Kanata location last month, including some people who camped out overnight.

Cabela's has more than 80 locations in the U.S. and Canada.

  Cabela's 70,000-square-foot store is full with hunting, fishing and camping gear, among other things.
