Backup cameras will be standard equipment on most new vehicles in the U.S. by 2018. Canada is expected to follow suit.
The research has been going on for years. And the conclusion is simple - rear visibility cameras will save lives.
It's estimated that 15,000 people a year are injured by backover accidents - about 200 of them die. That's why back-up cameras
will become mandatory on most new vehicles in the U.S. in 4 years.
Transportation officials believe the back-up camera will cut deaths and injuries in half. (05)
