Ottawa police are investigating after they were called to a Barrhaven neighbourhood early Sunday morning, where they found a 17-year-old boy who had been slashed in the face.

Ottawa Paramedics say around 6 a.m., they received multiple 911 calls from residents in the area of Kennacraig Private and Meadowhawk Crescent. Callers said a young man had been banging on neighbourhood doors, bleeding from the face and asking for help.

When Paramedics arrived, they found the victim on Kennacraig Private and treated him for an open knife wound on the face before transporting him to CHEO in stable condition.

Police say the victim had been in a fight, and is not cooperating with them. His injuries are not life-threatening. There is no suspect information at this time.
