Three people are in custody as police investigate an early morning shooting in the Lowertown area on Sunday, Mar. 8, 2015.

Police say they received reports of shots fired near Rideau and Nelson streets at around 5:30 a.m.

Police have closed off several streets in the area as they investigate. They are also searching for evidence with the help of sniffer dogs.

Major arteries in the downtown have been reopened. Police say the remaining road closures should not have a major impact on pedestrian and vehicle traffic.

No injuries have been reported. Police say they have three men in their 20s in custody, though no charges have been laid.
