The city is holding its first public consultation regarding the building of a massive playground at Mooney's Bay Park.
A group of approximately twenty protestors gathered to watch work being done at the site yesterday. They say the city is prepared to go ahead with the project without public input.
Today, former River Ward City Councillor Karin Howard is filing a court injunction, hoping to stop crews from continuing work. She states that “the deal didn’t bother to talk to the public about such a significant park and about what other people might want to contribute to the ideas and to make the project better even.”
Earlier this month, the city announced a partnership with the TVO show ‘Giver’ to build a two million dollar playground at Mooney's Bay.
Tonight's public meeting begins at 7 o’clock at the Riverside United Church.
