Section of Transitway to close Sunday, June 28, 2015
If you take the bus to and from the east end, expect your commute to look quite different come Sunday morning.
Starting on Sunday, June 28, the Transitway will be shut down from Hurdman to Blair to make room for LRT tracks. That section is expected to be closed until May 2018.
Commuters are being warned to expect longer travel times and they may need to make more connections.
New routes have been brought in but some will bypass Hurdman, Train, St. Laurent and Lees stations.
Cyrville Station will close entirely and some others will be relocated.
Motorists will also be affected as the busses will be moved from the Transitway to Highway 417.
Starting Sunday, a bus-only lane will be in use on the Queensway in both directions from Nicholas to the Split.
