CTV Ottawa has learned that work to replace the broken water main on Woodroffe Avenue is complete, and the city is now testing water in the new pipeline.

Although the installation work is finished, a rotating outdoor water ban for Barrhaven, Riverside South and Manotick remains in effect.

The water disinfection process could take about two weeks to complete.

The current end date for the outdoor water ban is still July 15, but that might be pushed even earlier.

The outdoor water ban, which affects about 80,000 residents in southwest Ottawa, was put in place in late April. The water ban was initially supposed to last until mid-August.
