OTTAWA - Tyler Toffoli's goal with nine seconds remaining in the second period proved to be the winner as the Ottawa 67's avoided elimination from Ontario Hockey League playoff action with a 2-1 victory on Friday against the visiting Barrie Colts.

Codi Ceci scored his first career post-season goal for the 67's while Toffoli also picked up an assist for a two-point outing.

"It was a do or die game here and we knew we had it in us," said 67's forward Sean Monahan, who chipped in by assisting on both of his club's goals. "We battled and came out with the win."

Daniel Erlich scored the lone goal for the Colts, who failed to pick up their fourth straight win against Ottawa to close out the series.

Petr Mrazek stopped 31 of 32 shots for the win while Mathias Niederberger turned away 43 shots in defeat.

Ottawa went 1 for 2 on the power play as Barrie failed to score on five chances with the man advantage.

The Colts now lead the second-round series 3-2 with Game 6 schedule for Sunday at the Barrie Molson Centre.
