Three cyclists are now in 'satisfactory' condition after experiencing serious injuries in a hit-and-run in Kanata last weekend.

The trio had previously been listed as serious and then in fair condition, according to the Ottawa Hospital. Their status was updated over the past 48 hours.

Satisfactory condition means the patient is conscious with stable and normal vital signs.

Robert Wein, the most seriously injured in the crash, is still listed in critical condition and remains in intensive care.

The family of the fifth injured cyclist has requested privacy. No status updates have been provided.

The group of five were struck on July 19 at March Road near Solandt Road.

The victims were transported to hospital after an off-duty bylaw officer found the cyclists and their gear scattered over an area that spanned 120 metres. Pieces of sunglasses, water bottles and other debris also littered the road.

The driver charged in connection with the hit-and-run was released on bail four days later.

Sommitt Luangpakham, 45, was ordered not to drink, drive or contact the victims or their families. He is required to stay in Ottawa and was ordered to turn in his passport.

His next court appearance is scheduled for Wednesday.
