Ottawa police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a recent bank robbery suspect.

On Thursday, Sept. 3, a man entered a bank alone along the 3400 block of Trim Road in Orleans at around 7 p.m.

The suspect entered the branch and announced it was a robbery. He pointed a handgun at a bank employee and demanded cash. He also carried a plastic bag and an undisclosed amount of money was handed to him.

It’s believed he then fled to a red hatchback with a black roof rack. That vehicle travelled south on Trim Rd. and was last seen turning onto the eastbound lanes of Colonial Rd.

It’s also believed he was in the area several hours before he actually entered the bank.

The suspect is described as Caucasian, 25-30 years old, English speaking and about 6'0" with a medium build. He was wearing a dark blue or black long sleeved button-down shirt with stripes, beige or khaki docker-type pants, a blue and white baseball cap with no logo, sunglasses with dark lenses, dark blue and white running shoes, and holding a handgun.

Anyone with information on this robbery is asked to contact Ottawa police.
