Sources: Bill Sinclair backing group to develop Lebreton Flats

There are new details behind the group competing against Ottawa Senators owner Eugene Melnyk for the right to develop Lebreton Flats.

CTV News has learned Bill Sinclair is backing the DCDLS bid. Sinclair is one of the founders of technology giant JDS Uniphase.

Also included in DCDLS, formerly Devcore group, is Mierans auto group, a company that owns 11 car dealerships in Ottawa, including Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Acura and the Civic Motors on St. Laurent Blvd.

Sources have told CTV the group also includes Cirque du Soleil founder Guy Laliberte and Power Corporation CEO Andre Demarais. 

The public will have a chance to see both proposals in detail on Tuesday and Wednesday at the Canadian War Museum.
