A 21-year-old male driver is in hospital with life-threatning injuries after a single car crash on Riverside Drive at Industrial Avenue at 2:08 Wednesday morning.
The car struck a light standard and suffered significant damage.
The driver was trapped in the wreck and had to be freed by Ottawa firefighters.
Paramedics say the man suffered head, face and chest injuries.
The intersection was closed for several hours as police carried out their investigation.
The driver remains in hospital in critical condition.
