PETERBOROUGH, Ont. - Shane Prince had six points to lead the Ottawa 67's to a 9-4 win over the Peterborough Petes in Ontario Hockey League action Thursday.
Prince, John McFarland and Mike Cazzola had two goals each for the 67s (27-11-5). Dalton Smith, Nicholas Foglia and Cody Ceci added singles.
Joey West, Derek Mathers, Andrew Yogan and Stephen Pierog replied for Peterborough (20-18-6).
Ceci opened the scoring, blasting a slap shot past Petes' starter Andew D'Agostini for a short-handed goal. The Petes took a 3-2 lead but Ottawa rebounded to lead 4-3 after a wild first period.
McFarland and Prince scored the only goals of the second period, after which the 67s led 6-3 despite being outshot 25-14 to that point.
Pierog pulled the Petes within two, scoring early in the third, but Ottawa scored three consecutive goals for the final margin.
Michael Nishi made 30 saves for the win.
Ottawa was 2-for-3 on the power play while Peterborough was scoreless in six extra-man opportunities.
