A second child in as many days has been seriously injured after falling out of a tree.

Paramedics were called just after 11:30 p.m. on Saturday night to Marlin Private near Cahill Drive in the Greenboro area after a 13-year-old boy fell approximately eight metres from a tree in his backyard.

The boy sustained lower back injuries and also showed signs of a concussion. He was stabilized at the scene and then transferred to the Children's Trauma Center.

Friday, a 12-year-old girl sustained serious injuries including a broken pelvis and shoulder blade after falling about nine meters from a tree near Windsor Park.

The Ottawa Paramedics Services urged parents to remind their children of the hazards involved with climbing trees.
