BELLEVILLE - Shane Prince had a hat trick and Tyler Toffoli helped out with three assists as the Ottawa 67's beat the Belleville Bulls 4-1 in Ontario Hockey League play on Saturday night.
Jake Cardwell had the other goal for Ottawa (20-9-0).
Rookie Brendan Gaunce had the only goal for Belleville (9-18-2).
Prince scored the game-winner in the third after some slick stick work. The 18-year-old forward dangled the puck around a defenceman to get to the middle of the slot and fired a shot past goaltender Tyson Teichmann.
He then added the insurance marker after fighting his way to the side of the Belleville goal and stuffing the puck in. His third came on an empty netter.
After a quiet first half to the game, the two teams finally broke things open with about five and a half minutes left in the second.
Ottawa opened the scoring on the power play when Cardwell was left wide open in the slot and wristed a shot high on Teichmann.
Gaunce answered back only 28 seconds later for Belleville when he found a loose puck behind the Ottawa net and jammed it in past Shayne Campbell.
Campbell stopped 23 shots in the win for the 67's, while Teichmann made 23 saves for the Bulls.
The game marked the second meeting in two nights between the clubs. Ottawa swept the home-and-home series after an identical 4-1 win against Belleville in Ottawa Friday night.
