Police say no charges will be laid after the driver of an SUV lost control of her vehicle, breaking through a barricade and flipping onto the Rideau Canal on Sunday.
The woman was driving on Colonel By Drive near the Bank Street Bridge when she lost control of her vehicle at about 8:40 a.m. It's believed slick roads may have played a role in the crash.
The driver was trapped in her SUV for almost an hour. Both the woman and her son managed to escape with minor injuries.
No skaters were injured during the incident.
