OTTAWA - Ottawa police confirm that they're treating the discovery of two bodies in an east-end home as a murder-suicide.
Emergency crews were called to the townhouse (on Beaconwood Drive in the area of Montreal Road and Ogilvie Road) at about 6:30 a.m. Thursday, where they found the bodies of a man and a woman.
"They seemed like a very nice family, an everyday family" said neighbour Phara Vincent.
"It's shocking, it's devastating. You never want to hear something so sad, it's especially shocking because I'm a mental health nurse" said Vincent.
"It's pretty scary, right next door, it's hard to think about" said Alex Cundy.
Local residents say the couple were in their late 30s or early 40s, and had at least one child.
Police say they won't be releasing any further information until next of kin have been notified.
