OTTAWA -- An Ottawa police officer who was found guilty of discreditable conduct in 2010 has been fired by the Ottawa police service.

A police hearing two years ago found Constable Jeffrey Gulick guilty of discreditable conduct for an incident in May 2008 in which he assaulted four other officers.

Last week, Gulick lost an appeal of the ruling to the Ontario Superior Court of Justice divisional court and was given seven days to either quit the force -- or be fired.
