OTTAWA - Today, the Ottawa Police Service Guns and Gangs Unit charged an Ottawa man with several firearm offenses following the execution of a search warrant in the 1800 block of Walkley Road. Police officers located a loaded 9mm hand gun and ammunition.

As a result, Jose Ramon RIVAS, 30 year old, of Ottawa was charged with the following offenses:

  • Sec.86(1) CC Unsafe storage of a firearm
  • Sec.91(1) CC Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Sec.92(1) CC Possess firearm knowing it is possession is unauthorized
  • Sec.95(1) CC Possess loaded regulated firearm
  • Sec.96(1) CC Possess firearm obtained by crime
  • Sec.117.01(1) CC Possess firearm while prohibited
