OC Transpo is taking public consultations on proposed bus route changes to the very suburbs that will be most affected.
The second of five consultations was held Wednesday night at the Kanata Recreation Complex, with more citizens expressing heated opposition to cutting routes.
"I don't have a car," said Dave Hoffman. "The bus system, if I want to go anywhere, is what I have."
"What do I do, take an early retirement because I can't get to work?" said Diane Hawes.
At issue is the 100 routes the city says will be affected, at a savings of $22 million a year.
The changes will affect certain people, said OC Transpo manager Alain Mercier, but those are the voices the city wants to hear.
"What we're trying to do is understand the right trade-offs, and only the people that are affected can tell us that," said Mercier.
The next meeting will be held Thursday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Nepean Sportsplex.
