Ottawa Police have charged a 31-year-old Nigerian man with dozens of offences in relation to fraudulent American currency transactions.

Police say between December 13 and 18 of last year, the man attended five different financial institutions in central and West Ottawa to exchange American money for Canadian money.

They say he completed 10 separate transactions at these locations. Later, it was discovered the currency he presented was all counterfeit.

31-year-old Chika Ogbuneke from Nigeria is charged with 41 offences, including fraud under possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime, laundering proceeds of crime and uttering/using/exporting counterfeit money.
