The Miracle League of Ottawa is vowing to still hit a home run for children with special needs in the city, despite not taking the $100,000 grand prize in TSN’s Kraft Celebration Tour .

The organization placed in the Top 10 in the competition. It received $25,000 toward building Canada’s first fully accessible ball diamond and playground in Orleans.

It would feature a rubberized surface to help prevent injuries, accessible washrooms and allow children to play without any barriers.

The city has donated the land at Notre-Dame Des Champs Park and says it will match donations up to $500,000.

The organization says it is on track to meeting its goal of raising $1 million by Christmas.

The community of Barrhead, AB won the grand prize.
