A long time member of the Gloucester council passed away today.
Patricia "Pat" Clark was 72 years old. Clark was the councillor for Cyrville on council from 1992 until 2000. She was an active member of the community, including her involvement with the Gloucester Fair.
In 2012, Mayor Jim Watson presented Clark with the Mayor's City Builder award.
Current Beacon Hill-Cyrville councillor Tim Tierney says Clark was one of his mentors and helped him get elected.
"In 2010, in my first election, she was helping me at the doors and it was a little cold," he recalls. "We'd been out there five or six hours and I said 'Pat I think that's it for the night' and she says 'Nope, nope, you're winning this thing.' We kept hitting those doors and I won by 187 votes."
"We've been really good friends ever since."
