The last weekend of spring is one of Ottawa's premier festival weekends.
The Ottawa Dragon Boat Festival is back for its eighteenth year, hitting the waters at Mooney's Bay.
The largest dragon boat festival in North America has 195 boats involved, with paddlers of varying degrees of experience preparing on Friday.
"We were paddling the right way and other teams going the wrong way so it was great," said Yolanda Stephens. "We're going to win today."
This year's free festival includes performances from The Trews, Steven Page (formerly of The Barenaked Ladies) and local products Jim Bryson and MonkeyJunk.
The 37th edition of Ottawa's Italian Week is celebrating the 150th anniversary of the unification of Italy, and is the first since the provincial government declared each June as Italian Heritage Month.
The Ottawa Ferrari Festival will be running all weekend alongside Italian Week, with the cars on display Friday and Saturday evening before a ride for Villa Marconi on Sunday.
It's also the 24th annual Canada Dance Festival at the National Arts Centre, the last of ten for artistic director Brian Webb.
This isn't even mentioning the personal festival taking over Sunday for many families – Father's Day (and all the activities that comes with it).
