The green light is on for the controversial condo development at the site of a former Westboro convent.

Ashcroft Developments and the City of Ottawa have reached an agreement that would see development at the former Sisters of Visitation Convent at 114 Richmond Rd. in Ottawa's Westboro neighbourhood.

This comes after weeks of negotiations between the developer and several community groups opposed to the project.  The agreement means the issue will not go before the Ontario Municipal Board.

As part of the deal, Ashcroft Developments donated $200,000 to the community association's trust fund.
