Two new condo towers could soon be coming to Westboro.

The trendy Ottawa neighbourhood will be the site of a major redevelopment on some of the city's most historic land.

Ashcroft Homes purchased five acres of land that currently houses the Sisters of Visitation Convent, built in 1880.

The company plans to build two condo towers, a mix of residential and commercial buildings, as well as a courtyard on the property.

Ashcroft says the plan will give the area an important balance between open space and development. The former convent will also be restored.

A public meeting on the development will be held at St. George's Church on Piccadilly Avenue on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
