Those who use the Riceville Food Bank will continue to have delicious meals to look forward to this holiday season, even after the Christmas hampers meant for needy families were stolen.

Citizens all over eastern Ontario sent emergency donations to the Plantagenet, Ont. facility after a CTV Ottawa news report on the problem that aired Thursday night.

Food, turkeys and toys meant for 20 needy families went missing after an overnight break-in.

The bank expects there is now enough to last through New Year's, but says more donations are welcome. Anyone can drop them off at 740 Station St. in Plantagenet, which is located about 64 kilometres east of Ottawa.
