Ontario Provincial Police arrested two people on drug trafficking charges after they were found with dozens of grams of suspected fentanyl, cocaine and other drugs.

Police say they conducted a traffic stop in Arnprior as part of an ongoing investigation last Friday.

A search of the vehicle allegedly found nearly 50 grams of cocaine, over 10 grams of fentanyl, over 400 meth tablets, over 17 grams of crack cocaine and more than 20 capsules of amphetamine salts.

OPP also found four cell phones, a replica firearm, almost $2,900 in cash and other items typically associated with drug trafficking.

Police arrested a 42-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman, both from Arnprior, without incident.

Each were charged on six counts of possession of a schedule one substance for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

Both were released from custody following bail hearings and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke in January.
