The man who killed CJOH Sports Director Brian Smith has made some bizarre claims while questioning witnesses at his own defense trial.

Jeffrey Arenburg, 51, faces up to 20 years behind bars for allegedly assaulting a U.S. border guard at a crossing in Buffalo, N.Y.

U.S. federal prosecutors say Arenburg was making a farce of the proceedings Tuesday when he claimed his thoughts were being used by a movie studio to make films. Prosecutors later asked the judge to intervene.

This is not the first time Arenburg has made a claim about voices in his head.

Arenburg said he was trying to silence voices he was hearing when he shot and killed Smith in 1995.

Arenburg, who has paranoid schizophrenia, was found not criminally responsible for Smith's death.
