The man accused of committing Ottawa's first homicide of 2010 appeared in court briefly on Saturday morning, with the judge deferring the matter until Jan. 26.
Jamesie Kownirk, 26, is charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of Denis Mitrow, 52. Mitrow's body was discovered in an apartment east of Ottawa's downtown on Thursday.
