Two people were killed Tuesday morning following a head-on crash on Highway 148 in Luskville, Quebec, about 40 minutes from downtown Ottawa.
MRC Police say 49 year-old Richard Filion and his 47 year-old wife Manon Aubin from Alymer, Quebec were pronounced dead at the Hull Hospital. The couple was travelling westbound along a winding part of the highway when the collision occured.
Richard Filion operated a drug store in Shawville, Quebec.
The driver of the pick up truck, a 33-year-old woman from Bryson, Quebec, was rushed to hospital with serious injuries.
She remains in critical condition. Police believe her vehicle crossed the line into the other lane. The investigation will take weeks to determine why her vehicle veered into the other lane. Police say fatigue or distraction could be a cause.
One of the vehicles flipped on its roof. The front of the other vehicle was smashed with auto parts strewn over that stretch of the highway.
