Former Ottawa Mayor Jim Durrell and businessman is the new chair of Hydro Ottawa.
Durrell who sits on the board of directors will take over from lawyer Pierre Richard.
Richard has held the post since 2004.
Durrell was the mayor of Ottawa from 1985 to 1991.
He joined the Hydro board last July.
Durrell is also president and owner of Capital Dodge Chrysler Jeep Fiat.
His appointment as Chair of Hydro Ottawa will have to be formally apprroved by Ottawa City Council next week.
