A Canada Day night crash near Peterborough left one youth, 19, dead and six passengers injured after a Pontiac Transport van hit a tree and rolled over, Ontario Provincial Police said.
The collision took place around 11:20 p.m. near Settlers Line at Hope Mills Road, killing Abukar Mohamed. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The six injured youths are between 16 and 18 years of age, and were brought to Peterborough Regional Health Centre for treatment.
Police are probing the cause of the crash and other "related factors", they said.
