Students at Munster Elementary School in Ottawa's west end will be back in class Tuesday after an early morning fire cancelled classes on Monday.
Fire crews arrived at Bleeks Road at about 7 a.m., shortly after receiving an emergency call.
Although firefighters say the blaze was extinguished quickly, the fire caused extensive smoke damage which kept students out of school Monday.
Paramedics were also on scene to treat one firefighter for a minor injury.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
