Crews started demolishing the Vox Lounge in Bells Corners Monday morning.
The lounge on Richmond Road has been abandoned for six years and has been the victim of graffiti and a rat infestation.
The property was left untouched because of a lengthy legal battle over ownership. Now that the case is over, Petro-Canada has bought the property and the building is coming down.
Local business merchants are hoping the property will be redeveloped with a hotel.
