Family and friends will celebrate the life of an Ottawa woman whose body was found half-naked and badly beaten in the Britannia area one year ago.

A woman walking her dog discovered the body of Pamela Kosmack, 39, near a bike path in the Britannia area on June 4, 2008. At the time of her death, Kosmack was seeking help for a drug addiction.

The grim anniversary will be marked with a walk to honour the slain mother of two.

The vigil will begin at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the corner of Richmond Road and Poulin Avenue. It will end after a short walk to the same path where Kosmack's body was found.

Police have not yet laid charges in Kosmack's death. However, investigators continue to search for the owner of a pair of brown-framed Foster Grant reading glasses that were found at the scene.

Anyone with information about Kosmack's death or the owner of the glasses is asked to contact Ottawa police at 613-236-1222 ext. 5477 or Crime Stoppers 613-233-TIPS.
