A man believed to be in his 40s is dead after his vehicle slammed into a hydro pole in Ottawa's west end Monday morning.
Police say the vehicle left Carp Road, near Rothbourne Road, in Stittsville, at about 10 a.m.
Paramedics say the man was trapped in his vehicle when they arrived on scene, and emergency workers couldn't get to him right away. The driver was the only occupant of the vehicle.
The male victim was pronounced dead about half an hour later. His name has not been released.
The cause of the collision is under investigation.
