A man and a woman have been charged following two recent robberies in Ottawa.

Police say on Friday morning at 9:20 a.m. a man armed with a knife robbed a store in the 0-100 block of Jolliet Avenue.

The man left with no cash in a vehicle without license plates, but with a Quebec trip permit in the window.

Gatineau police say a man matching the suspect’s description had committed three robberies in Gatineau overnight and had fled in the same car.

On Sunday at 11:30 a.m. a store in the 200 block of Richmond Rd. was robbed by a man with a knife.

Again, Gatineau police say the occupants of the vehicle had been involved in a robbery in Gatineau,  about half an hour earlier.

Ottawa police spotted the vehicle on King Edward Ave. and arrested its two occupants.

45-year-old Sylvain St. Amand of Gatineau is charged with two counts possession of a weapon and two counts of robbery.

42-year-old Chantal Labelle of Gatineau is charged with two counts of conspiracy to commit an indictable offence, and two counts of robbery.
