OTTAWA -- The National Capital Commission and Ottawa Bylaw Services officers are keeping a close eye on two young moose wandering in a forested area near a road in Ottawa's east-end.

The young, healthy moose have been spotted in the Ramsayville Road area.

In a tweet, Ottawa Bylaw and Regulatory Services said officers were monitoring the moose to make sure they remain in a safe location.

In a statement to CTV News Ottawa, Operational Support and Regulatory Services program manager Christine Hartig says the NCC and Bylaw Services have been monitoring the moose over the past several days.

“These moose are currently located in a forested area and are not in any danger, nor do they pose a danger to the public”, said Hartig.

“As such, any action to intervene or to move them is unnecessary and would be detrimental.”

Drivers were asked to watch out for moose on the move and give them space so you don’t stress them out.

On April 2, Ottawa Police spotted two moose wandering in a parking lot in the area of Uplands Drive and Downpatrick Road. There was no danger to the public.
