A series of gun raids in Eastern Ontario this week yielded 24 illegal firearms seized by the Ontario Provincial Police, with charges pending against several people in relation to their possession.

Guns were seized in the following locations:

  • Madoc - seven firearms, with charges pending against a Tweed, Ont. man;
  • Killaloe - a handgun and a sawed-off .12 gauge shot gun, with charges pending against a Killaloe, Ont. man;
  • Belleville - two firearms, resulting in guns and drugs charges against three adults;
  • Trenton - four firearms allegedly stolen from Picton, with charges pending;
  • Bancroft - nine firearms (including a machine gun, two hand guns and military ammunition) with an ongoing investigation related to a break-and-enter.

Several of the investigations are ongoing, and no names were released.
