Two people have been charged in what police are calling an organized auto theft network.

Ottawa and Gatineau Police have charged two Montreal natives with stealing and dismantling Lexus/Toyota products.

Police say 25 cars, worth more than $800,000, were stolen from driveways in various Ottawa neighborhoods from April to September, 2014.

Six of the stolen vehicles were found in shipping containers in Montreal. Police believe the other vehicles were shipped overseas, re-vinned and either sold domestically or dismantled for parts.

Erik Poulin, 34, has been charged with 23 counts of theft of a vehicle, 25 counts of possession of break-in instruments, 4 counts of attempted theft and 2 counts of possession of property obtained by crime.

Joel Pilon, 27, has been charged with 22 counts of theft of a vehicle, 22 counts of possession of break-in instruments, and 2 counts of theft over 5,000 dollars.
